General FAQ
No, with restrictions.
Reservations are highly recommended for groups of 4 or more. We are accepting walk-ins based off our reservation schedule. We cannot guarantee seating without a reservation. To make a reservation for 8 or less people CLICK HERE. For groups 9 or more, please email us at [email protected].
Yes.
Children and pets are welcomed at Narmada Winery. Due to being a working farm, we ask that all children remain under DIRECT ADULT SUPERVISION AT ALL TIMES and that pets remain on leashes. An adult must be with children at the playground AT ALL TIMES. If these rules are broken, you will be given a verbal warning. Afterwards, you will be asked to leave without refunds or returns.
No.
Winery gates close and lock shortly after the tasting room closes. We recommend purchasing wines to go 15 minutes before closing. For guests that leave without closing their tabs, or for those with tabs open 15 minutes after closing, an automatic 15% gratuity will be added immediately before gates are locked.
The kitchen closes 1 hour before the winery closes, our last tastings end 30 minutes before closing
Yes.
Narmada Winery has 51 acres, but not all of it has seating. Lawn chairs and picnic blankets are encouraged in our public areas. Please stop in our tasting room before setting up for additional guidelines.
Yes.
We serve Indian food and light fair Thursday through Monday. Our menu can be found HERE. We make sure we order enough food for our reservations and then a few additional servings. To reserve your spot and food order, please click on the link HERE. Based on our reservations, wait times for food may range between 20-60 minutes. A limited menu may be in place for walk-in customers.
Yes, with restrictions.
Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed on site. They must be consumed outside of our tasting room.
No.
Outside alcohol is forbidden on our property. If you are found with outside alcohol, you will be asked to leave immediately. No exceptions.
Yes.
We have several options for covered areas. Our picnic tables have umbrellas that provide shade. In the event of rain, we also have a covered section under our deck, covered balcony, and indoor seating. For larger groups, we may move your group to our crush-pad.

We are offering tastings at the bar and tours by reservation on select Saturdays and Sundays.

We do not accept same day reservations, but we do allow walk-in groups of less than 10.
Yes, but with restrictions.
We do allow large groups, though we require reservation for groups of 9 or more. We may have to turn away large groups without reservations. For groups larger than 30, please email us at [email protected].

We do allow catch and release at our fully stocked pond. YOU MUST CHECK IN WITH THE TASTING ROOM BEFORE GOING DOWN TO THE POND. If there is a private event rental that day, fishing will be prohibited.
Yes, with restrictions.
We allow our guests to enjoy our property, but ask that they respect other guests’ privacy. We ask that guests do not walk past our bridge onto private property. The pavilion is often used for private functions only. Guests will be asked once to remain on the grounds around the tasting room. Afterwards, guests will be asked to leave immediately.
Yes, with restrictions.
We do not allow anything that is flammable, or any balloons on site. We welcome all other decorations as long as they are taken down and thrown away at the end of your visit. We allow birthday cakes and other treats on site, but they cannot be stored in our refrigerators. Please plan accordingly.

Wedding & Event Rental FAQ
We will hold your requested date for ten (10) days after your walkthrough visit.
An initial payment equal to 50% of the site fee and a security deposit are due upon signing the contract. Final payment is due on the day of the event. If not paid in a timely manner, the deposit is forfeited.
Narmada Winery requires a credit card to be on file to cover any additional purchases made the day of the event.
The security deposit is to cover potential damage by your guests and will be deducted from your final payment after a final walkthrough from staff. If any damages have occurred, you will be notified and billed for any repairs over and above the deposit.
Cancellations must be done in writing.
4-6 months prior: 50% refund
Less than 4 months: deposit is non-refundable, however deposit can be transferred to an alternate date agreeable to both parties.
There is no fee to transfer to another date agreeable by both parties (maximum of 2 transfers).
Events timing is negotiable. Typical events can happen between the hours of 8am-10pm. All guests/ event staff must be off the property no later than 11pm.
Standard day-of set-up time for your event is 3 hours prior to the guest arrival time in all areas other than the Tasting Room and Patio. In the event that you require more time, additional staffing fees will apply. Delivery of tenting, tables, chairs, etc., can be scheduled at a time agreeable to Narmada management.
A ceremony rehearsal can be hosted the day prior to your wedding, not exceeding 2 hours.
Yes! We welcome decorations such as flowers, candles, lighting, etc. We do not allow anything to be applied to the walls or building that will cause damage. If you choose to use candles, they must be in containers or on a stand to prevent damage to our surfaces.
Our parking lot accommodates 50 cars and we have additional event parking for 50 in the grassy area across from the Pavilion. We also have parking areas designed to accommodate limousines, mini coaches, and motor coaches.
You may arrange for everything from DJs to full dance bands. The music portion of the party must end no later than 10:30 pm.
No.
We highly recommend hiring a planner, whether day-of or comprehensive, particularly if you are from out of town. For events larger than 100 individuals, a planner is mandatory. Please see our list of preferred vendors. Narmada Winery provides a manager to assist in coordination of vendor drop off/ pick up and wine related services only.
There is a bottle minimum required for all events, depending on event size. Additional wines may be purchased the day of.
Yes. We have several caterers we can recommend, or you may bring in your own caterer who must follow our event guidelines. The caterer must meet with Narmada’s management prior to the event. Narmada Winery cannot provide food for any events.
With the proper banquet license and insurance certificate, the event party may arrange for champagne, beer, and liquor to be brought in and consumed in the manner consistent with these documents. Additional non-Narmada servers are required to pour non-Narmada alcohols.
We encourage our guests to arrange for designated drivers and/or special transportation and any other steps advisable to avoid discomfort, inconvenience, or accidents. Under no circumstances will the Winery serve alcohol to underage or intoxicated persons.
We recommend booking weddings at least 8 months in advance, and other events 1 month in advance. All rentals must be booked 3 weeks in advance of the desired event date to ensure proper staffing.
Full access to the rented space.
A complimentary tasting for 2 to decide wines at the time of the final deposit.
For pavilion rentals, access to the parking lot across the pond area. For all other rentals, private parking area by the tasting room.
Use of bathrooms at the tasting room and portable toilets.
Catering vehicles may be parked next to the pavilion temporarily, while unloading or loading. Once the food and dishes are unloaded, the catering vehicle must be moved to the event parking area.
Any buses or limos must park in the designated bus and limo parking area next to the barn by the tasting room. Due to the weight restrictions on the bridge leading to the pavilion, they may not be brought down past the winery
No vehicles may be parked on the grass directly next to the pavilion or tasting room.
If vehicles damage the grass or the property by any of the rental areas, renter will be informed and a repair amount will be deducted from the security deposit.
All children must remain at the rented location at all times and/or be accompanied by an adult. This includes using the playground area and going to the restroom in the tasting room.
Dogs must be leashed at all times and are not allowed inside the Tasting Room or Cellar areas.
Policies
Please note that our kitchen closes 1 hour before the winery closes, and that tastings, glasses and open bottle sales end 30 minutes before the winery closes.
Please note that we operate on a seasonal basis, please check our website for seasonal hours in advance of your visit.
Absolutely no outside alcohol is permitted on premises in accordance with Virginia State Law. Only Narmada Winery wines are allowed to be consumed on our winery property. Any outside alcohol found in your possession will be confiscated and you may be asked to leave.
We have worked hard to earn our ABC license and don’t want to lose that privledge, please be respectful of this.
Any visibly intoxicated patrons will not be served and may be asked to leave the premises with a designated driver.
All coolers brought onto the grounds are subject to search for outside alcohol. Coolers are only permitted outside of the tasting room.
Groups of 6 or more must reserve their tastings in advance. You may reserve our private tasting area for groups of 6 or more for $30 per person. You will enjoy your own personal Narmada Winery ambassador who will guide your group through the nuances of tasting wine. Group tasting includes 10 wines.
Advanced reservations and a 50% deposit are required at the time of reservation. Please email us at [email protected] to make your reservation.
Seating for group tastings depends on availability. No reservations are taken from public seating. We can accommodate groups up to 8 in our tasting room (please note that outside food is not permitted in the tasting room).
For parties of more than 6, we recommend using area below the deck or our picnic tables or patio area. At times we will open our crush pad for seating with picnic benches.

Behind the Scenes at Narmada Tours – A tour with winemaker Sudha Patil
We offer a tour a day on Saturdays and Sundays at 12pm. For $15 per person, you can view our 20 acres of rolling vineyards and trace the path of the harvested grapes from crush pad to vinification, and to aging to tasting room! After the tour, you can enjoy a tasting at our bar or at your table (not included)

A visit to Narmada Winery generally begins with a tasting at our tasting bar or a flight to take to your seat. We offer wide variety of different flights and several tasting options according to your preferences and experiences with wines.
Each flight allows the guest to sample 3 different wines.
Each tasting allows the guest to sample 6 different wines.
Our tasting associates would love to help you with your selection and will explain each wine’s nuances as they tell you a bit more about the winery and its history.
If you already are familiar with Narmada wines and want to place an order, you may ask a tasting room associate to ring you up for your wine for enjoyment.
Our Club Members receive priority with wine and food orders so please make sure the associate knows that you are a Club Member if they already have not reached out to you.
We offer a wide selection of food for your enjoyment that can be seen HERE. Non-alcoholic drinks for designated drivers are available.
Guests are welcome to bring their own picnic to be consumed on the deck and patio area as long as the food fits the table occupied (no dedicated food table or buffet tables are available).
No coolers are allowed inside the tasting room.
We highly recommend pre-ordering food before your visit. Food will be served tapas style (with disposable utensils). Due to the nature of our kitchen there may be a waiting time of 20-45 min, make sure to reserve your food, before it sells out for the day!
