9th Anniversary Celebration – Saturday November 17th

Join us as we celebrate Narmada Winery’s 9th anniversary and Chambourcin Nouveau Release Festival!

We will be open 11-5pm.

In the tradition of Beaujolais Nouveau, which is released on the third Thursday of November in Beaujolais, France and is approximately 1/3 of the entire crop in the region; Narmada will be releasing this year’s Chambourcin Nouveau.  This “primeur” is a young wine made from our 2018 Chambourcin harvest, instead of the traditional Gamay grapes.

We are excited to bring you this light, fruity, zesty, exuberant wine with low sulfites.  This wine owes its easy drinkability to as winemaking process called carbonic maceration, or whole berry fermentation, this technique preserved the fresh, fruity quality of the wine without extracting bitter tannins from the grape skins.

This wine will be tasted and purchased our anniversary weekend and will be hand bottled on site. We recommend this wine to be consumed within 3 months and served at room temperature.

We will be having complimentary wine tastings all day as well as an ongoing raffle with winners every hour and live music.

New Artist Exhibit — Carolyn Roth

Did you ever wonder why no author is asked to create an image for his book, and yet every visual artist is expected to write an artist statement?

Ironic, as the work of a visual artist is nonverbal and hopefully speaks with its own symbolic language. Why is the visual artist burdened with taking a nonverbal process and putting it into words? For the moment I can only say that living in Rappahannock County has given me space, freedom, nurturance, and quiet as bedrock for creating. The mystery of creating defies words. My hope is that my work evokes a response from the viewer.
